Are you a private landlord or tenant? Have you ever had trouble with ensuring housing benefit is received in full and on time? If so, the City of Plymouth Credit Union may be able to help.
Under our Local Housing Allowance scheme, the tenant's housing benefit payment is paid by the council into the tenant's credit union account. This is then paid directly to the landlord (either into their credit union account, into their bank account or via cheque). This ensures that for every payment the credit union receives, the landlord will receive it on time and in full.
The cost for this service is just £5.00 per tenant per four weeks (deduced from the amount paid to landlord). How much can you afford to lose?
Note: Both the landlord and each tenant must become members of the credit union to access this service.
